We understand that sometimes you just need a helping hand. When there are vacancies in our community, we offer respite care to those that need temporary relief of their duties while loved ones continue to receive care in a safe and comforting environment. A respite stay can also be used as a trial basis prior to permanent moves.
As with all of our residents, those under respite care will receive individualized care plans that are best suited to fit their needs. The care plans will include, but will not be limited to:
- Incontinence Care
- Three meals and snacks per day
- Activity program
- Medication supervision
- Resident in-room comforts: a bed, armoire, bedside table, etc.
- Facility safety technologies including safety cameras and door security systems
- Individualized service plans
- Emergency services
State licensing requirements concerning capacity and admission will be the basis of accepting residents. Respite stay can vary from 1 hour to a maximum of 60 days.
Residents, families or legal guardians will be responsible for supplying all personal items for hygiene, toiletries and clothing for the duration of the stay. All medications will be provided by the resident, family or guardian along with a complete list of the medications prescribed and their usage. All medications, including over-the-counter medications, need to be prescribed and signed by a physician.
The resident’s service plan for respite care is valid for six months to allow for re-admission during that time frame. If there has been a significant change in condition during the absence, a revised service plan will be required.
Although we are not a hospice provider, we do supply our residents and their families with the necessary support for end-of-life care. We coordinate with approved and recommended hospice care groups that meet our standards of care and protocol. As an extension of your family, a member of our staff or management will stay through the passing of the resident to ensure a comforting transition for everyone involved. It is our mission to provide our residents with the comfort of a familiar place, paired with the peace of knowing that they are surrounded by love.
