Become a Certified RV Technician
RV Training Center (RVTC) is a vocational school on a mission. This mission is to provide the RV Industry with the most highly qualified RV Technicians. We accomplish this by providing a program that combines classroom/theory and labs with diagnostic techniques. RV Training Center teaches the complete RVIA curriculum, supplemented with our extensive hands-on training. Throughout the 10 week course, students receive training on RV systems. These include Electrical (DC/AC/Solar), LP Systems, Hydraulics, Refrigerators, Heating and A/C, Plumbing, Generators to mentions a few. Our hands-on training is on actual RV's providing students with real world experiences and troubleshooting skills. Upon graduation you will receive RVTC Certified RV Technician designation. This has prepared your for your next step --- attain the RVDA/RVIA National Certification. RVDA/RVIA certification will provide you with the additional industry credentials and opportunities should you desire. RVDA/RVIA certification testing can be arranged for our students... Application and fees are paid separately to RVDA and not included in our tuition fees. RVTC encourages dealers to send their technicians to our school for certification, continuing education,and re-certification training. We are a progressive vocational school that will monitor the market's needs and continually strive to meet those emerging needs. With the help of manufacturers and our knowledgeable staff, our training program will prepare students to become Certified RV Technicians.
Sam Alsop (President / Founder / School Director / Head Instructor)
A respected RV technician and trainer for over 20 years, Sam owned his own Florida based business, Generators Plus and was an RV Technician at Bill’s RV Sales & Service in St. Petersburg, FL. He was an instructor for the Diesel Institute of America in Tampa, FL, a consultant for the Department of Education Aquaculture Program in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Diesel Department Head and Instructor at Howell Cheney Regional Vocational Technical School in Manchester, Connecticut. Sam also has over 25 years experience in the marine mechanical field (M.E.P.) while in Connecticut. He is an RVTC, RVDA/RVIA Master Certified Technician and Instructor, Aqua Hot certified and Universal EPA certified in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and LP Gas certified.
Joyce Alsop (VP / Head Administrator / VA Rep & Computer/Webmaster)
Joyce has over 45 years of office administration experience with various companies in Florida such as Florida Power, Prudential Home Mortgage, Lickton Design, Suncoast RV. For the past 13 years, Joyce has also been part-time Administrative Assistant to Andrew Hines Jr. Joyce is also Administrator and co-owner with her husband, Sam at RV Training Center, Inc. Joyce is a notary public, does recruiting and helps maintain the RV Training Center website. She is also a liason for Veteran Administration and CareerSource (Workforce).
Wayne Boyle (Instructor)
Graduate - Philco Technical Institute - HVAC, Refrigeration, Electronics, Appliances. Worcester Community College Microsoft Office & Networking Certified. Has taught Commercial HVAC/Chiller troubleshooting and repair, EPA Certified. Over 40 years in the service field working as Director of Engineering for major Hotel chains, Service Manager in the Marine and RV industry, Wayne brings a wealth of technical and administrative skills to RV Training Center........2002 - Certified RV Master Technician......RVTC 2015 - Certified RV Master Technician
Bill Romito (Director of Admissions/Marketing - Tampa, FL)
Bill's background includes more than 18 years experience in the Technical,Trade, and Business School industry, and an additional 15 years experience inthe RV industry. Bill started his career in the School industry as an Admissions Rep for J.E.T. Management Corp. where he was later promoted to School Director. He later joined Allied Education Corporation as a Regional Admissions Director for the Midwestern U.S. After leaving the Education Industry, Bill was hired on at Lazydays RV Supercenter in Tampa Fl. During his 15 year tenure at Lazydays, Bill held positions in Sales, and Service as the Director of Technical Training, where he was responsible for overseeing the Technician training to become R.V.I.A. Certified, and Master Certified, along with Continuing Education, and Manufacturer Training on new products and systems used in new RV's. Bill retired from Lazydays in April, 2015 and decided to come on board at the RV Training Center as the Director of Admissions/Marketing. We welcome Bill with open arms to our RV family.
